I agree with that, I can’t imagine -30*, we’re only about 1200’ elevation, really low on the mountain, we see a lot of 20’s and some temps in the Teens, but even single digit temps aren’t very common, Fugetabout Negative Double Digit temps

We did get more Snow than usual for our area this Winter, 30” on Valentines Day, but generally more than 18” at a time isn’t very common

I remember thinking a couple years ago when we went to -38° air temp and it was around -65° wind chill that one good thing was if any EAB was around we were killing it off. I heard a few people had problems because their propane wasn't running because the cold let the propane want to stay liquid and not feed to the furnaces.

It might surprise you. That is if you could have that cold with little or no wind. Comparing -30 with no wind to zero with a 20 mph wind, I'd take the -30; even a 10 mph wind can freeze you fast. But then I remember that one day when we had -50 and a 25-30 mph wind... I'd much rather forget it...except maybe one one of those 95 degree days with the dewpoint in the 70's... That is worse than awful except when you can swim in Lake MI or freeze in Lake Superior. That is a good way to cool off.
