If BL is involved, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Hopefully it turns out to be a paying job with keeper wood.
    How far away is it?

Pretty sure it ain’t paying anything. Probably 15 miles or so, which isn’t much of any concern, that’s just the way it is out here.
I was thinking about this, this morning. There should be a machine or two around, so I might could bring it home in logs.

Sounds promising to me. Personally, I’ll do some clean up [for free] if it benefits my hoard.

Oh I agree. I’ll do some cleanup for the wood. I’d rather not see it left to rot or shoved in a pile and burned. Decent firewood is tougher to come by out here and I don’t like seeing it wasted.
But some people don’t understand the difference between gathering firewood and getting free tree service work.
To me there’s a vast difference and it varies greatly from one situation to the next.

Never enough is the correct answer? 20 cords in logs, I don’t stack a thing anymore, waste of time I don’t have. We do toss it in IBC totes or on pallets. I don’t have any standing dead on the 5 acres at the house. Just purchased 9 acres for a future house build, so have 5 acres to clear cut. Have been approached by a friend to clear cut her 10 acres for the wood. As long as it’s 100+ cords of wood that’s happening. We can buy 10 cord permits from the state to cut wood. But anymore I do t have time for much pleasure cutting, so we buy semi loads x2 per week.

My 13 year old conned me into starting a firewood business. He knows how expensive travel hockey is and wanted to help offset. We have done well and have made enough to fund the entire season for he and his 2 siblings as well as fund a nice Christmas and $$$ in the bank. As well as some equipment purchases. Hat to complain. Life could be a lot worse.

Well you can’t tempt one of us with a good time like that! We cut enough weekly that we have plenty of shorts, uglies, cookies, sawdust and chaff. So we burn that in our OWB. Our personal wood pile is hanging steady waiting for its turn. But it’s nice having the waste from the company heat the house.

Just got in from running the splitter through some 18-24" diameter cherry rounds with more on deck for tomm still. The rounds were so heavy I had to use the maul to half them to put into the utv. Thankfully it's super cold and they split easy was getting 15-20 splits per round.
