A couple of years ago at work I was asked what I got for Christmas. I told them my wife gave me a hookaroon.

That elicited a response from coworkers, saying " your wife got you a hooker room?"

Like Sandhillbilly said at the beginning of this thread. Mainly used for unloading the pickup.

That's really smart! I may follow suit. I've got a bunch of random tool handles in the garage.

I don't have one, nor have I ever used one. I just jump into the truck to unload the front of the bed. But maybe I've been doing it wrong this whole time! Seems like a pretty sweet tool.

I generally just use a garden hoe or rake to unload the pick up unless there are large rounds.

I have one and sure like it. For splitting with splitter in vertical mode, is SO easy to reach and pull rounds to you. It's maybe about 18" long. As for unloading the truck, after several years of not having one and using a hoe, I bought a longer one for just that!

I have a worker that is kind of mentally challenged sometimes. He will be struggling with a heavy log or something and I will mention to just get the pickeroon! He'll continue struggling. I'll get the pickeroon and move the log with ease. Next time, same thing, he absolutely does not get it.

I have 2 fiskars. One long one short. I stick both in opposite ends of a large round and make it alot easier to lift up into the trailer.

X2... "I also use it to pick up brush rather than asking my poor back to be bending over" ... works really well...

Well if you're like my nephew you miss the log and drive the point into your shin.

    Ouch!

Definitely not it's intended use. You do need to be a bit careful using them.
