Tend to have Gatorade Zero on hand at all times, a gallon Yeti thermos of water, and a mason jar of Arnold Palmer zero sugar. I start each day with 3 cups of coffee as well.
When I was in school and playing soccer I’d mix apple juice, water, and salt in a gallon jug. Being a type 1 diabetic the sugar from the apple juice was important to keep from having a low. Still mix up a batch for long hikes, or walking the 3.5 miles of property line we have.

No pee can definitely mean dehydration, but you actually don't want pure clear urine. Absolutely clear urine is a sign of over hydration. There ideally should be a light pale yellow tint to it.

People tell me I drink more water than anyone else they've ever seen or known. For some odd reason I've always been that way. When I used to ride bike a lot I did find if I drank a red bull around the 70-75 mile mark it really helped and I felt great. I will still drink red bull sometimes and have found it helps to get rid of some headaches which plague me.

I was plagued with headaches as a teen (not migranes thank God). Rarely these days unless I get into a *lot of salt.

Water. I also use Nuun hydration tablets. Just drop one in a cup with some water and ice. Works better for me than the pre packaged stuff.

I use one mint tea bag with the green tea. Two large cups in the morning with just sugar then my coffee.

I was never a big tea drinker but when I get a cold I'll have it with just sugar...black tea that was. Ex GF drank mint tea and I tried it so that was my new cold regimen. Found out the benefits of the green so combined them and two cups before my coffee as I had to cut back on that from a full pot daily to three "Brad" sized cups. Green straight up with sugar isn't that good.

X2, I hate pickles though, so......

I only drink water and milk. I used to drink a gallon of milk a day back in college and the years that followed. A handful of years ago we needed milk. I stopped and picked up 4 gallons and my other half stopped and also picked up 4 gallons. Lack of communication. So we had 8 gallons of milk in the fridge. :picard: I was able to drink it all before any of it expired and she does not drink milk. I dramatically cut down on milk consumption though recently and started drinking more water.

Back in 2000 I blew out my discs big time. I remember the year because I didn’t have cable tv and the only thing on was hanging chads LOL. So I was reading a book, not able to walk. Gleaned this little nugget of wisdom from a neurosurgeon. When the body dehydrates the first place it takes liquid is the spinal discs. When it replenishes the last place it restores is the spinal discs. That doc surmised 85% of the back problems in this country all stem from dehydration.
So I had a surgery, healed up as best I could, learned to walk with nerve damage to one leg from a crushed nerve. Eventually went back to work as a mason. Always drank Gatorade on the job until the last job I was on, they provided water. Come summer I found even pounding water was not enough. Still needed two bottles of Gatorade a day or within a week I wouldn’t be walking.

Now the chocolate milk thing got my interest. Shortly after going back to masonry my back really started hurting on the job again. Getting g so bad it would take almost 5 minutes just to get out of my truck after work,,,,that’s bad :) One morning I’m heading for work already in quite a bit of pain, I’ve got this voice in my head whispering “chocolate milk”. Craziest thing, I don’t drink chocolate milk. Don’t mind it but don’t drink it. All day that voice is whispering. On the way home it starts shouting. I’m in a helluva lotta pain but I pull over at a convenience store and buy a half gallon of chocolate milk. Ghug the whole thing down in the parking lot. Driving home I notice the pain is almost all gone. I’m scared to even shift my body in the seat in case it comes roaring back. Hopped out of the truck and almost danced a jig. There’s some sort of miracle in chocolate milk. Had another half gallon the next morning. Used it for years whenever I felt the back acting up.
One caveat. For me it had to be Garelik Farms Whole Chocolate Milk. Never found any replacement for that, tried em all. No longer on the market that I can find.
Some day if I need an insanity defense this story will come in handy :)

I kindof found it on my own but was backed up by my GP. He recommended it after strenuous exercise. I have not been drinking any lately because I can't find the one I like anymore. What a first world problem to have eh? I enjoy milk, but am pretty picky about it. I've had a 10oz glass of milk every single morning for the last five or so years. Gets me 1/3 of the way to my daily calcium target. It's also contributing to my high triglycerides. Doc said we ain't gonna worry about that for now.

This doesn't apply for me because I never took to coffee. Agree...green tea alone is rough.

I keep a pitcher of cold green tea in the fridge...no sugar. It isn't bad, but it isn't good either. Better than plain water sometimes.

I drink a lot of water and, if sweating copiously, a gator-aid. If I have been on the ball I will also make Switchel Switchel Recipe (Haymaker's Punch) before hand. An age old drink that has many benefits. I use honey instead of molasses or maple sugar. I may use ginger or not and usually add a healthy pinch of sea salt. I will guzzle it slightly chilled and it relieves cramps almost instantly. The best approach is to not work in hotter weather. As I get older I prefer to work in moderately cool weather and at an easy but steady pace. If I do this, I can get by with just water!

I drink about 80% water and 20% gatorade. I also take creatine on a daily basis which I have found to help my endurance and strength, been taking it on and off for 25 years.

I find milk rather nasty too. We are the only species on planet earth that drinks milk after infancy.
