Hej hej all, Thanx for all the tips and trics guys! I realy like the second split machine seems like a good idea to save some money up for that. But for now i just leave it to the tire trick. Getting some work out also with this method. First snow droped last night, o golly am i the only one who loves the site of wood covered in snow? Here some pic for u wood people......... Have a nice day all! (Getting back to snow wood splitting!)
I like the building with the bird siloetts and the funky windows. The giant pile of wood looks nice too.
How I split? The RT-210 of course. and and Borrow a hydraulic about once a year to tidy up the unsplitabibbles.
This is a funny question for me because I set my log trailer up with the ultimate in automated wood splitting, but split my wood by hand. I have a pot bellied stove so my wood is short and small, so I really do not need a perfect splitter, and just a little wood goes a long ways for me. So I got the capability to automate wood splitting, and split by hand instead!
From my experience you got to split Birch straight away and as soon as its dried its as solid as a rock. If Birch logs are layin about in the wet for to long, thats where agony starts.
campinspecter uses a splitter to save his back. He doesn't always use the four bladed knife this way but it was fun to set it up.
Sometimes you have to use the splitter in the wrong direction. Hated it so much I only did two that way then noodled the rest. You can see a homemade pickaroon in the round. Snapped the handle right off moments later. Cheap axe with a very poor quality piece of hickory. Next handle will be steel.
With a Huskee 22 ton splitter. Best money I've ever spent. Picture is Savage style, which is an option I'm grateful to have when I need it, though I don't use it too often.
