I won’t be participating but would be happy to observe. We do have excellent Mayo hospitals nearby if anything goes wrong.
GTG's are so fun. Seeing old friends and making new ones. Putting faces to screen names... amateur cutter (Adam) and me (L) eatonpcat (Brian) and brenndatomu (Dave) The crew at walt GTG this Oct... It's always fun to watch Dave eat one of Walt's pies...didn't save anybody a bite...
Colfax is pretty close to Eau Claire i remember seeing signs visiting my daughter's school. The Mrs and I would be up for going.
I've seen plenty of adult beverages dissappear at GTG's. Between Kenis, Becky and Eric i to this day can't even look at fireball!!
If you have a GTG we will try to attend, didn't look to see how far yet. I have hosted a few ,don't be nervous. Things always have a way of working out. I run a firewood ministry so I have logs ready to be cut and split. I think the FHC members that come enjoy seeing how much firewood they can make in a couple of days. Port-a-John's are important and maybe a food sign-up list. Other than that just set a date and they will come.
jo191145 hosted one here in Connecticut May of 2023. Unfortunately it rained heavily the day we had originally picked so the rain day was the next day...a Sunday otherwise we would've had a better turnout. We cut some wood, ate some food then hung out by the fire after with lots of BSing along the way. All in all a good time had by everyone. Here's the thread CCGTG One suggestion is to set a date(s) well ahead of time for attendees to plan for, especially if they have to travel some distance.
How is there a picture of Brian sitting without a drink . Also its Wisconsin, isn't there a four drink a day minimum to live there
There's always splitting. Lol Since I'm a lot closer to 60 than I care to admit, and several the people that frequent these gtg's think I'm a youngster, chatting isn't a bad thing after several hours of cutting and splitting
Music to my ears. Thanks. Now that I have posted and we are actually talking about it I’m not so nervous/scared. I am actually excited! It can get pretty darn humid here in july/aug, and that’s why I was leaning toward june. Things are pretty green by then but not overgrown, and the weather is usually nice.
I'd be all in on a WI GTG. They are always fun! There's some planning and set up but most folks are pretty self sufficient. Have wood to process,a fire pit, an area for food storage and serving, a porta potty, a place to set up tents, campers, etc, and just be a good host and the fun and shenanigans ensue.
That’s exactly what I have and will have. You guys can even check out my son’s car and truck. He has a 1935 plymouth pj deluxe sedan and a 1969 f600. The truck is in great shape and the car is in need of some work but is still in fairly decent shape.
Just a heads up...There is usually a large GTG in PA in June and that may limit attendance at one, the other or both!
