Hello everyone!!! Cant tell you how much i love the site!!! I am ashamed to admit i dont have a sawhorse. (I wasnt sure if if it was a requirement to join as i didnt read the fine print)! LOL!!! Many years ago, when i was young i made a "wheelhorse" It looked like an offspring of a wheelbarrow and a sawhorse. It was basically a sawhorse with long handles and wheels...it was mobile and you moved it like a wheelbarrow. I was at Lowes today and saw the wheelbarrow replacement handles which made me think of it. I may try to make another. In the meantime does anyone have a design for a decent sawhorse? Have some 2x4 2x6 lumber hanging around and want to put it to good use.
That's a sawbuck. Try a search on the site. Seems like somebody put some plans on here. If I was 20 years younger I might remember who.
Thanks AC. Pretty much what im looking to make. Along those lines. Another new term ive learned in a week. Thanks for the education!
A sawbuck is generally for cutting firewood and a saw horse is generally for carpentry work and has a flat top or is basically a beam with 4 legs. That's the vernacular in this area anyway. Most people would know what you meant contextually though.
I liked CONTEXTUALLY myself. Bill must have had a second cup of coffee last night to keep him up thinking about that post!!
It can be a good idea to attach a couple wheels on one end and handles on the other for moving it. I've seen several made that way and it works so long as the wheels aren't too small. And don't worry about saw horse or saw buck. Around these parts a saw buck is still called a saw horse. We understand.
I talk to him occasionally but right now he has no desire to get on the forum leave alone enough time. His job is keeping him really busy and also his relatives are doing it too. He is fine though.
I struggle with (a form of) aphasia more often than not. Sometimes I can express exactly what I'm thinking. More often than not - I can't. In the real world I usually don't say much because it is hard to.
