Gonna make me a long handled version to make it easier to pull pieces out the truck bed. That looks handy

Appreciate all of the replies Y’all! Sorry to say that some “life” things have gotten in the way and since my firewood stacks are full and the weather has not been conducive (HOT) to wood cutting, I’ve not sourced a tool yet:rolleyes:. As it begins to cool off and I get back to it I will give an update. Thanks everyone!

I have one of these Fiskars Hookaroons. They're pretty inexpensive so I ordered it online. When it arrived, I looked at the blade and figured that won't last long. Well, that was like 6 years ago. It lifted and dragged tens of thousands of pounds of wood since then and even took out a couple of trespassing ATV tires and is still in operation.

I have one of these too. I use it a lot. When I forget it, and I couldn't used it, I am reminded that I should have brought it along. Now it rarely doesn't get added to the stuff I bring when doing wood work. Just loading up the trailer will save a of work, especially bending over. I've found that dense wood like locust needs a bit more effort to stick it in the split before picking it up, but I find it's a very useful tool.
