Honey locust, nothing sweet about splitting....

    More city scrounges of HL

    My HL in my front yard looks just like these, except it's in one living piece and it needs to stay that way. 20190318_181552.jpg

    Also it is very difficult to split with a maul. It laughs as the maul bounces off.

    I also got a small scrounge of HL thick cookies. The guy thought they were maple, it was in his front yard. That's one odd looking maple. Anyway, I figured I could chunk off pieces around the outside. These 24" or so rounds are only 5" or so thick. I figured wrong. They are sitting waiting for the hydraulic splitter to be brought over.

    Cool. Locust it is. Thank you guys. I had a 14 ft trailer heaped to the top of this, so I need it to be worth something!!!! So heavy!
