    Lol Yessir, it really is.

Now's the fun part. Turning it into splits and seeing the yield.

Oh man, the fun part for me is felling and bucking. Then second is admiring the stacks.

Running saws is probably tied with splitting for me, honestly. Loading, unloading and stacking come after that. Stacking being the least fun.

I'll agree with ya about admiring the stacks though. It's nice to see the harvest in it's final resting spot before it's burned. Which is why I like watching the pikes grow as I get it split.

This is the first time I've left town to get wood in probably 6, or 7 years. I almost forgot how time consuming loading rounds is.

Yes, it's very popular. They don't have to be tagged and up until a few years ago, a guy wouldn't get messed with, even if the lights don't work on them. I've heard of guys getting pulled over for the lights not working, but not about it not being tagged.

Like everything else, they've gotten a bit silly price wise. A guy used to be able to pick one up for 50 to 75 bucks, but nowadays they can fetch up to 400 bucks for a decent 3/4 ton. 2-300 is common for half tons.

My dad had one when I was young. Pulled it with his Dodge van.

They are quite common in Nebraska too, although I think license plates are lights are required. I’m sure someday a nice officer will let me know for certain :emb:

I did some noodling on my locust hoard today. So I figured I'd show my progress over the past 3 months of splitting and working the mess down. After this pile is split and after burn season, I should be right at 3 years cut split and stacked.

Made some serious progress there. I like noodling big chunkies like that. Makes nice pieces vs. splitting.

Yeah, and it feels good to get it cleaned up a bit. Gona hit it again tomorrow and haul off the piles of chips and bark and that'll help too. I got 3 tree removals lined up, so I need the room.

I also like noodled pieces. Just something about a nice squar-ish noodled piece of wood. Fits in the stove better too! A lot of the rest should be able to be split and there's a couple logs I want to mill.

This haul should yield me about 8.5 cords, give or take, all said and done. I was guessing 10 initially. Not too shabby for a few afternoons of hauling and a bit of processing.

Got another little jag of split and noodled wood worked up. Only thing I like less than stacking, is hauling off noodles, chips and trash. Ended up with a whole dang pickup bed full. But, it makes the area more useful now, getting it out of the way. Last picture is all that's left besides 2 mill logs.

Here's the logs I want to mill. Kinda pizzed at myself......the log on the right was 10 foot long and for some reason I bucked 2 rounds off of it, before I buried it. Not sure why, because I always wanted to mill it. Oh well, it's still about 7 foot long.

Thats a lot of noodles and wood trash! I should clean up one of my splitting areas like that. Not as much is yours though. Too bad about the mill log although 7' is still decent.

Yeah it is! Way more shovel work than I wanted to do today. Over to the right of the mill logs, was a complete mess of chips and trash that had been covered up, for probably dang near a year. But, it's cleaned up now and out of my hair. I'm gona keep up with it better, because that took awhile just to get that all loaded and unloaded. I was hoping to get more split.

It'll still make some good stuff for sure. Just not real sure what I was thinking.

Got a bit more of this processed today. Just a bit more left and that pile from December will be done.
