Safelite put a windshield in my company vehicle and did fine. Most of the body shops I frequent won't use them. It really comes down to the installer just like anything else some are hacks and some are good.
Since I’m a HL virgin, I went out and split a piece of this wood, (cut about 1 year ago). Just let it sit in my basement for about 1/2 hour and got this: I won’t be burning it for probably 4-5 years so I know I’m good but I’ll keep and eye on MC as the years pass to see how long it takes to get to 20 & 15% and possibly lower.
Did you check for any corrections based on species? I know some meters do that automatically and others you need to do manually.
General concensus here is at least two years but many have stated at least three. I have my one cord stack of three year CSS sold but will check MC out of curiousity.
My meter has 8 different ones and locust is A which I’m on. Soon as I migrate the wood for this years burn, I’m going to move this HL to the main stack so it will get top covered w that.
That’s mainly why I’m posting it. I think every fall, if I can remember, I’ll pull a split and check it. I’ve never tracked MC like this but why not.
I'd cover it a third down all sides. That sun will get that rubber toasting the wood bone dry in no time.I had some water soaked elm under that rubber and it became bone dry and burned so hot it was scary.
