They must be impressive if they can out throw these.

That’s something I’ll never see in real life. It’s like a firehose for snow. If you lived in a city you could blast your snow to the neighbors across the street.

Horkn you've been to my house.. My Honda is 7 hp 24” wide and 18 years old easily blows snow any type 16 feet. These videos only show dry fluffy snow..

The real test is concrete type of snow IMO

Yep, the real test is the super wet snow. I have a compact 24 Ariens (didn't need the tracked models that Ariens has) and it throws even slush snow at least 10 -12' away. Concrete snow it throws much further. It can throw snow about 40', if it's just right.
Now if you want a real good snow removal machine, the 48" snowblower attachment for my gt17 tractor throws it at least 50'. Maybe further.

Yeah they really are great. Their snow throwers is what has made them the company they are today. They've got a ton of experience with the Wisconsin winters.

ANy of you guys lube up the impeller housing with silicone lube spray? Or wd-40? I suppose it's not the greatest for the environment but I think it helps to keep things running smoothly.

Yes sir. Fresh, smooth paint is a must. If it starts getting worn or flaking it gets sanded down and re-painted. I also use either car wax or a spray on lubricant on my blowers and plows. Makes a huge difference. Snow glides right off like a fat man on a greased up slip and slide.

    A I had some
    B It’s designed for snow

Replaced the chute wire. Chute lever now works properly. Woo hoo!

Picked up some Lucas 80w-90 gear oil at the local dealer as I was there picking up more shear bolts and more hydrostatic fluid.....because my neighbor just acquired the same exact unit and it needs servicing just like mine did.

Nobody round here has 90W gear oil but given how seldom this is used I think it should be ok.

Yeah the impeller housing is showing rust and the chute also has a bit as well. I should have just left the auger out and painted it. Now I'm going to have to take it all out again.....Although I might get lazy and just do it next year. :D

Look..........the HS928 self replicated!!!! hahahahaha. Picked up ANOTHER identical HS928 today........for my neighbor. I had showed him a pic of mine and his eyes almost popped out of his head. Long story short I offered to drive and pick it up for him. Picked up some 1500lb straps at the Depot today since I used two of my 500lb straps to straighten one of my peach trees.....and they were pretty slick. No issues transporting and it was fun to use the ramps again. Luckily this bad boy started even though the fuel was pretty nasty.

This one has more rust than mine although the chute wire works. Will do the tranny fluid, oil, and grease the augers and this time I'll dump the gear oil when I have everything apart!

The bowl in my HS928 was pitted and full of crap. The o-ring on the drain plug ripped. The gasket for the bowl is shot - cracked and brittle - and you have to order the bowl to get the gasket. First time ever taking out a jet and of course I had the wrong screwdriver and now I've stripped the damm thing. Ordered a conical straight edge screw remover from Amazon and should be here tomorrow. The fuel filter bowl had a white powdery susbstance and when wet looked like toothpaste. The filter itself looked like it had sawdust. Wtf!

Soaked it in carb cleaner and scrubbed clean with a brass brush and then noticed the actual pitting at the base. I bet my neighbor's is worse.

My 35 year old used to have to silicone spray the chute when it was new. Once the paint got old it never clogged again. Only broke a shear bolt once or twice and that was on the big chunks of frozen crap from the town snow plow at the street end of the driveway. Picked up the newspaper a couple times and spit out like it was nothing. Not 35 feet in the air though.

Not that this is a competition but this is the worst ethanol mess I've seen. I thought it was sand. It wasn't. Just ethanol crystals and corrosion. IMG_20220929_090739110~2.jpg
I hosed it out with carb cleaner. No visible rust on the crank or bottom rod bearing. You can see the pitting from the ethanol eating the case.

Now its soaking with CRC inside. I'll leave it this way for at least 24 hours or more then I'm running it. I need to make sure it's good enough to wreck testing oil.

Wow that looks pretty terrible for sure. Well, I failed in extracting the jet. That sucker was STUCK in there. I ended up having to drill it out and in the process messed up the emulsion tube. So then I just decided to order a new carb given the amount of corrosion to the bowl. I don't have an ultrasonic cleaner and figured I might as well just cut my losses here.

I watched this video and got the extraction tool which I thought would work but man o' man that jet was STUCK.
