I should've seen the scope mounts and said it was a Ruger m77 mk II. My primary deer rifle is very similar. all weather Stainless with composite stock Ruger m77 mkII in 7mm rem mag. How's the recoil on that 338? I still hear crap about my m77 from my buddy. That 338 really must thump. Like I told my buddy though, you shoot 1x and you dunt really feel it. At the range though sending a whole box downfield. Well...

I only ever tried elk once. Grandpa got a roast from a hunting buddy. I’m quite sure it was at the bottom of his freezer for a while. Even the gravy was tough!

This is the only rifle I have with a muzzle brake. It’s pretty heavy and has a good recoil pad. Recoil is quick and sharp but easy to handle from the bench. My 300, 375 and 8 mags are more of a handful than this rifle.

Actually hung at 293 which was more than I thought. Decent sized cow for this area.
