Just for helping the members i will start some threads of how to made some homemade tools that help them when they want to repair theirs chainsaws. theese tools can be made with simple machines like angle grinders, that everyone have to his house no need CNC, or lathes , or lasers The first tool is the crankcase stihl splitter a fantastic tool that can open and close the most of saws , you need only a welder and a grinder for this tool and the materials you can colected from a ironworking shop all the dimensions are in milimeters the materials that you need are a tube Φ 22 mm inside diameter , a spindle , a nut , three square iron bars , and two small metal plates . here is the drawing with the materials and dimensions, and will continue how to make it
I share pictures , drawings, videos , and dimensions of many tools of stihl and husqvarna maybe are not so high class like the oems but sure they help
Until now you see the making of the tool , this tool can open but and close the crankase of stihls and some husqys , lets see how to make it . you need a old stihl clutch, a long nut M12 , and a left hand thread spindle M10
Now a simple tool for put the seals to the corect depth, take a peace of tube about the diameter of the seal and weld a shim , take good measurments , so everytime that you will need to put a new seal just tap the tube , the shim stop the tube to push the seal deeper
