We have some of them ole Razorback hogs and them suckers are mean. They won't back down for anything. I always carry an extra weapon while hunting especially at muzzeloading. usually a 44 magnum pistol. When going down to camp and fooling around in the off season, always have a 223 or 308 with 30 or 20 round mags. Between the hogs and bears, ya never know what might happen. You guys are bad to the bone.lol I don't think you could pay me enough to tackle one of those big ole red razorback hogs with tusk stickin out of his head a foot long.lol
Grabbing a hog by the legs is a crazy adrenaline rush, I've never shot one out hunting but want to try that method too sometime.
I'll have to double check my list of things NOT to do, but I'm pretty sure its on there. I've grabbed plenty of domesticated hogs before and they don't enjoy it. I'm sure a wild one would object a little more strongly. Shooting them with a full auto weapon out of a helo sounds more fun.
Once you grab them and get their back legs off the ground it isn't too bad, the hard part is getting ahold of them
Now you got me thinking of a great after dinner festivity for the GTG ...................................
It was a part of growing up for me, lol. Granted the hog wasn't trying to kill me tho. You guys are nuggin' futz for sure. Wouldn't mind some wild hog chops on my plate tho.
I soooo want to participate in a helicopter hog hunt! Actually I would be thrilled to get to hunt hogs anywhere. I have even though about going to one of those Texas ranches where you pay to hunt just for the fun of it.
Hey, check this one out! I saw this article today. A guy just took a 500 lb one with an "evil rifle" in eastern N. Caroline. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/03/14/north-carolina-hunter-bags-500-pound-wild-hog/?intcmp=features That baby is going to yield a lot of meat, imagine the ribs off that beast!
The next week another person in NC got a 500lb hog. Its only a matter of time before they make it up to Maryland.
its amazing the amount of damage they can do. Ive seen them come into a crop field and completely destroy it in a few days.
Thinking a 200 lb pizzed off wild hog could ruin someone's day real quick. A 400-500 lb hog ? He's hungry… and you look pretty tasty…
