Nothing against pellet stoves, but as long as you've still got trees, Dennis, I promise, you will have firewood. I'll be by at least once a year to make sure of it.
Shawn, that is really appreciated. I know you have April 22 on your calendar already. A couple guys planned on coming this Friday to cut but can't make it. I've hauled out a few logs and stacked up some that I've bucked but not yet split. I'll continue to try to get more out as the winter progresses unless the snow gets too deep. Already we have more than we had last winter! And you know the welcome mat will always be out for you!
I have plenty of wood, I have plenty of wood, I have ... Yes, I suffer the same. I have easily 2 years worth of wood, and yet who knows what might happen?
You're not alone I'm the same I feel like I never have enough and I feel like I need to have more, my wife was like you have enough but I think nope and keep scrounging or heading to the bush bringing more and more back. The holy grail 3 year plan hasn't been hit yet though.
Here in Kentucky it ain't as bad as up there in the great frozen north east! I don't reckon I've burned 1/3 cord yet this season. But I still look at the hole in My stacks and get like . Right now I'm probably 5 or 6 yesrs ahead. All my neighbors joke about how much wood I have stacked and I still worry about my supply. I have six trees marked for cutting. I think we all have the hoarding bug really bad! If you want or need to talk out your worries I'll be passing through your area in a few days on my way to Chatham Center, NY, I'll be happy to stop and listen.
Just so you know, there are a bunch of us on the pellet side that suffer from the same malady. We see space in our pellet stacks, and just have to get more. Some have even resorted to loading their garage so that they can't get in it. Others, have many tons in their yard that have to be walled up with beer and vodka. So thick that that if a huge hoard of pellet pigs show up, that every one of the would be too drunk to go on, and still have enough to protect the stash.
Don't forget the Pigs in Wolf's clothing lurking in the darkness, waiting for little pigs to go to bed.......
