    Only because I can't get the 550 to burn much more than 6 hrs and I'm not gonna be a slave to the stove. Wish I could get more since I have to do a lot of cold starts. I was splitting on the small side to make sure the wood would be dry. Now that I'm ahead a couple years I started splitting hardwood much larger than I have in the past. The wood will get at least 3 yrs if not more in the stacks. Hoping the larger splits extends my burn times but it's not a huge firebox.

    Still feeding the stove and getting it settled down every morning may never be in the cards.
