I try and empty my pants pockets two or three times before I even walk in the house but there's always more in them. Hoodie pockets are even worse!
My issue is more the odor of two stroke with the occasional spillage of gas or oil on clothes. I add a touch of Dawn dish soap to the detergent, and opt for a couple more rinse cycles. of course no other clothes are added to that wash
Sourwood that's not an odor, that's what I call a fine cologne. Haha. I run avgas and a good oil mix to kick it up a notch. Drives the mrs wild
I LOVE getting that way outside in cold weather for a few minutes. I like the odd sensation of being completely dry, esp after a shower . . . to let the dog out for a pee, I'll go out with her and 'air out' whilst she's doing her thing.
Eventually, when I look like an immense butterfly shrimp covered with Panko, I have to bite the bullet and do a dedicated firewood clothing wash! My good laugh for the night.
campinspecter has dedicated outer wear for firewood harvesting. Reflector jacket and Kevlar fallers pants that don't often get washed. Plus he does the laundry which he is very good at. We don't use a dryer, just hang everything to dry. When he does work clothes, it is only a work clothes wash load. I have never noticed a lot of sawdust in the house.
Just like glitter when you get some on it gets on everything around you and it's difficult to clean up
chaps keep most of the dust out No dryer here either. We'd use it for everything. Hanging stuff out is relaxing. And, we have a line in the basement for winter use.
My wife often washes my outdoor clothes separately. She sweeps me off outside and has labeled my clothes “a special case.”
I do a lot of noodling!! So I am covered with dust, shaving on me and caught in the saw! I gety shop more messy from all that than the house!! I use my acompressor to clean out my saw and off me! So when I come in the attached garage I am not too bad and I strip down before coming in house!
I've done the same, just in front of the front door. Steps and landing are concrete so can be a little cold on the feet. You have to be in a rather tall vehicle to see my front door from the street and only one neighbor can see it. Sure beats dragging the vacuum out though.
Seems like there is always some in my shoes.she is pretty understanding about it and gets it vacuumed quickly. She says its a good trade off for how warm the house stays.
I usually have a couple of old hooded sweatshirts that I cut the front pockets out of. Saves a lot of laundry aggravation.
