I agree about suing the wastewater treatment as well! Probably just going. After who his attorneys either feel is more at blame or who they are more likely to get money out of:headbang:Pardon the pun but I believe the lesson is chit runs down hill. Farmer”ll end up with the shaft, municipality probably end up with the farm, and we’ll see what ends up with the auto maker:rolleyes:

Were those estimates anywhere close to what you were expecting? That is a heck of a lot of work. And like other said, I'd try and keep as much as possible for lumber.

I'd take em down myself.... 8k-14k is hard to come by.
Assuming there is space to fall them without climbing, it would take me and one helper about 1/2 of a day to get em all on the ground.

Yes, although I need to make sure the specifics are locked in. They definitely don’t want the wood. Grand fir is crap…pretty much only good for fire pits. And that’s the majority of it.

The second quote of $8K is what I thought the high end would be. Was hoping for something like $5K, but when I really look at how tight everything is (buildings and other trees) and the size of these trees (plus one looks like it’s dying, so not the safest to climb), I can see how much time and risk it’ll all take.

I have no felling experience, and none of these are good to learn on. We also need the whole project done soon.
Space to lay them down is one of the biggest issues. In addition to buildings and trees, there’s a road nearby. It’s a thick, branchy mess in there.
But yeah, tacking $10K onto an already expensive project was a kick in the teeth.

There’s one more issue that I hadn’t mentioned—in this county, in certain areas, you need to have an archeologist come out to do a quick survey for Native American artifacts. Of course, she found something. It was a hearth (basically a semi-circle of rocks for underground cooking) and some primitive tools. So there’s another small spot that needs to be avoided. We had to get multiple tribes to sign off on the septic plan. That was actually the easiest part of an otherwise cumbersome process.

My family thinks the archeological site is pretty cool. It’s expensive and annoying, but I’m choosing to stay positive, especially since I can’t control it.

Wow I can’t believe all the red tape that you have to deal with… makes me extremely grateful that I hang my hat where I do!

Yeah, you said it brother.... being from the PNW I'm really enjoying the freedom of the Ozarks....
Before we moved here, I didn't really even believe that there were places left where it was legal to poop without a permit......

Yeah pros and cons to living anywhere…no state income tax so they have to make it up somewhere!

And you can buy poop permits in a 20-poop punch card, so it’s not too inconvenient.

Yeah, being able to "go" 20 times between permit apps is the only way to go.... volume pooping....

As long as you do it in a highly regulated septic system apparently

I’d have to give up my Mexican food if that’s the case!
