someone is looking for someone to come over to his place with a splitter to split a pile of oak. He is less than 5 miles away. I was thinking $40/hr does that sound reasonable?
Compare to local rental rates. HD was $60 four hour min an $100 a day here. I charged $100 for a cord and half. We had it done in a little over an hour. They would not have been able to do that much cypress with the HD rental inside four hours.
take into consideration that they might want it stacked also. And not necessarily where it is being split.
My machine works at least four times as fast as the local rental units so everyone got their day back.
I stopped by the place today looks to be about 2 cords of oak. And yes he wants it stacked about 50 ft from the pile. Quoted him $250. He said okay. I figure it will take my about 5hrs. But as long as I can do it in under 8 I'll feel good about it
