High Winds..............

Yup. Soaked here too. I burned a bunch of branches and stumps yesterday though, got rid of a good amount.

 

Rain stopped and sunny just in the last 1/2 hour!
Breezy.
Looking at the radar it might turn out to be a decent day. I think most of the wind/rain is going just north of us.
Dug out and leveled an earth bank for a building project Monday and Tuesday. It was dusty when I started. It's a mud hole now !

 

I'm right along the south shore of Lake Ontario, where they were predicting some of the highest winds. I asked for Friday afternoon off in anticipation.

We got soaked yesterday, but the highest winds stayed to the south. There was a tree down in somebody's yard on my way home from work, but there wasn't a lot of excitement at the homestead. It blew the top off of a couple dead maples I was planning to grab this year; should make them pretty easy drops now.

Things were starting to whip around pretty good this morning. I'm hoping for a little help with some broken top locust. C'mon, big BTUs! Big BTUs!

 

Rain started up here again. Now the wind has come in. Suppose to be 98% chance of rain for next hour. Then down to 60%. Soaked!

 

Looks like it is letting up some, still raining, but not so hard. Looks like it will clear out in a few hours. Thousands lost their power, (not us!) Downeast Maine still getting hammered. Still windy. I can see further into the woods now. Lots of leaves down.

 

Mostly slower winds, but we did have some for a few seconds that I thought for sure we're going to snap a few Pine trees off.

 

Sun now shinning, temp is 66F and just a little breeze. Might get my pants on and go out for a while!

 

One minute the wind is calm at maybe 10-15 mph and then it's crazy and seems like 35-40mph.

 

It's the same here and in Massena Gasifier , the sun comes out so you think about going back out, then it turns chitty again.

 

Constant diet here all day of pounding rain showers followed by clear periods and steady gusty winds.
Glad I had gotten the yard all cleaned up before it came.

 

Got a call today for a clean up of a downed Pine.

 

I think we got about 3" of rain and the winds were high. Most of the leaves came down, so that's a good thing. I rather do one clean up and get it out the way.
