First burn tonight so off to the wood stacks. My next in line wood is too long for my stove. I still have 10 or so cords that are cut to 22-24 inches for the big old Defiant. I normally stack a full load in a wagon and cut it down all at once. Tonight I did not have the drive to do that, so I grabbed 10 splits off a pile that was cut 15 months ago. The pile is not stacked, just piled. Curiosity got the best of me and I split and checked a hickory log. Surprised to see 19% on the meter. Pleasantly surprised. Currently I am checking its' ability to sustain fire.
