We got some more hickory on the woodyard, decided to start processing it into our biggest shed...maybe we can keep it for personal use this time...... The XS2511T sure makes a great marking or limbing saw... Used the XS4910 to buck rounds We only had time to and 1 fork load of logs that day. The Wolfe Ridge 28HO made short work of the rounds... We n have the conveyor set up to carry splits to the back of the shed... A little pile, probably stack it on a rainy day...
Tell me your secret of keeping chips out of your boots when cutting in shorts? (I used to cut in them, but grew tired of having chips embedded in my boots liners)
I push my socks down to bunch up at the boot tops, still get a few chips in my boots, but not bad. Too hot to cut in long pants, do wear my chaps if Im in the woods working
X2. Drives me nuts if my pants lift a bit and go over the edge of my boot and I get chips in them. Seems one chip will get stuck and jab me in the ankle. Ill stop and take the boot and sock off...even if its really cold. Ill never cut in shorts or sneakers.
Don't mistake my post as a safety nanny thing. Everyone determines their own risks and mitigation. I just remember that it was cooler to be in shorts. Pretty well gave up on them because of the chip issue. I mostly don't wear sweatshirts with a front pocket because I have filled them with chips while felling in the past. To a comical level once while I was very concentrated on the cut. 4-5 good handfuls were in there.
