I see ya greenway pellets made it up the scale for 5 Tons. Collinywood, TN 38450, may be alot of freight on them.
We are 883 miles from the mill 21875 Zip. Most retailers say to much freight.
How many mile are you? And where did you find them?
Good to see Ya this year
    Good Luck for the winter

Pro Pellets are the best I can get in this area for the price. I have no complaints, but they aren't the best out there. The best I can get are Uncle Jed's, but I'm not paying a $70/ton premium for those.

I'll probably go with a 50/50 split of oil and pellets this year and save the pellets for the really cold days.

Last year I was only able to find a few bags of leftover, have 35 bags. Saving them for The really cold nights. Hoping they make there way back north this year.

I know it's hard finding good pellets in our State and if you do find them the price is always way up there.

Best I could find last year for a good price was AWF hardwoods.

Late last winter I had a bunch of problems with some of my pro pellets. Won't ever buy them again.

Looks like propane will be priced good again this year. Probably like last year ,I will only burn a ton or two. Still have over 2 tons left from last year.

I'm only going to buy if the pellet and price are right.

Lucky you. looks like propane will be over the $3/gallon price point again this year. Like last year - I will burn strictly pellets except for DHW and to run water thru the FHW pipes during negative degree temps (run boiler/circulators for 8 minutes every 6 hours)

Have you looked into Discounts on Heating Oil, Propane & K-1 from Our Town Energy Alliance ? Its a buying group that costs 25.00/year membership and can save big bucks on oil/propane. I used them as far back as 2001 but stopped when didnt need much oil anymore and Eastern Propane became my only choice for home heating oil-they screwed me and others one year so I swore I would never do business again with them at home. If Fieldings delivered to my area I would use them in a heartbeat.

BUT I have signed up my workplace for the last 5 or so years for our propane (yeah Eastern propane) and saved quite a bit per gallon each year. If I remember correctly about a dollar...using 2K gallons and that means big $$ saved.

Check them out. They are a small place in Barnstead NH and great people to deal with. Dan Barraford founded the group but sadly he passed a few years ago.

I dont know if enrollment is closed for this winter but it might be worth a phone call...ask for Donna.

That would be nice except I have to get it from a certain supplier since they own my tank. At this point, I use less than 100 gal per year - Even the first year I used propane and used a lot, I didn't get a decent discount from my supplier. The average cost of propane in NH is $2.39 - that is surveying users of 700+ gals of fuel per year, not small users like me and does not include other charges (delivery, recovery etc - just base price). And let's see, if I got 700 gals per year (which would be very doable judging from the first 3 months I was in this place), that would be $1700 - more than I use for pellets AND would only be heating the main floor, not the basement. I'll stick with pellets thank you

Under 100 gallons-you wont get any real savings, nor should you even try. This is also a reason i dont use the group any more either. With oil there is a rack plus option where you dont need to lock in or pre pay. You pay a market price that is generally lower than retail so if I use 100-200 gallons it might still be worth the 25 bucks. Again Eastern Propane being my only option for oil here nullifies my options.

You mentioned higher propane prices in NH so I gave you an option for lower. You dont seem to need it.

Been using the ThermGuard for 1.5 seasons now - love it! When I first need it I'll run it 8 minutes every 8 hours. Then in the deep of the cold, I'll change it to every 6 hours. Easy to reprogram then I don't have to think about it anymore

6 tons Heartlands = $1650.00 $240 pick up delivery and restacking in pole barn. $2900.00 electricity. Total is fine with me, especially with the very warm house I keep.

I had my first "upsidedown" fire last night. Perfect weather, Today the leaf blower comes out for "the stove cleaning". Bring on the cold!
