OK. So I had it done this morning at 10am EST. It's now almost 11pm EST and I'm actually doing pretty well. The pain is minimal and I haven't even filled the pain killer prescription (I'm just doing OTC Tylenol and Ibuprofin.) I can get around well, stairs have not been an issue at all. I'm hoping tomorrow doesn't bring increased pain and swelling. I'll let you know.

I hope it wasn't as bad as the "cough cough" deal. I had to do that Wednesday for my DOT med card. I'm still sore in that area!

Dana B my day is next Friday. I'm scheduled for a mid morning surgery. Same type as yours, double inguinal. I'm looking forward to it, been wearing this hernia belt for a month now and I haven't worked out in 2.5 months. Just want my life back before this thing showed up. Thanks again for your referral, he's a great doc with a good track record.

I thought of all of you guys the other day when I was watching that Alaskan show with the 3-4 families. I think the guy's name is Otto. He was riding a horse on a 30 mile cattle run. He was lying down along the way complaining about a lot of pain down there. Man... horses? o_O:hair:

I think her day was made when he had waaaay more trouble with her horse. Funny stuff.

I forgot Jack Straw that she was the same one who had just lost a fight with the scope on her rifle... right after her honey had warned her many times about getting too close. Jeeez... I came right off the couch when she got nailed. You knew it wasn't gonna be good.

T minus 7 hours and I go for my gizzard realignment that I have put off for 15 years. My first surgery so a little anxious. Just sick of hurting and thinkin some time it will get worser than it is. So time to do something about it.

First sugery of any kind? No worries, they put a tube in your arm or hand, put stuff in it to make you feel silly, then you don't mind or sometimes even notice when they use the real gas to put you under. Knowing what I do about you from here, you will be a barrel of laughs till you are under   Then you wake up, either have to stay til you BM, or get to home sooner :)

Yup, musta ate my wheaties and drank my milk. Not counting fingers I have never broke a bone, never had surgery for anything not even for wisdom teeth. I am a natural born moron...only had one wisdom tooth and they just pulled it when it was just pokin thru. Had stitches a coupla times. And that's bout it. Had a purty good run.

I had mine last month. The entire procedure, from the time I walked through the front door to leaving, was top notch. Experienced some discomfort no pain. The first 2-3 days was difficult so expect to be laid up. 2 weeks later right back to the old me again. Good luck Green

I will be getting an abdominal done after the new year. the surgeon that did my quad bypass missed a stich at the end of the incision and it popped open.
I'm hoping it will be easy as I was only down for 2 weeks after the quad, unique situation.

To the guys that've had this done......................

What's your physical condition????? Big, fat boys?? Small wiry guys??? Out of shape?? Office job or manual type work????

Were you doing something in particular when you found this or got this???

Did you need to be "manscaped" prior to surgery??

after a big surgery you will never be shy again. when I had my quad bypass, they rolled me into a prep room naked. super bright lights and cold. then 10 nurses and helpers gather around and start asking questions, installing IVs and other tubes. While this is going on the others start shaving your body from shoulder to foot, not a hair left. it is really weird having someone holding the privates and shaving them. after that nothing bothers me anymore, all my dignity is still in that room.
