My son came up and cleared most of the snow off the roof. He used a snow scoop. No ice dams. There is a product you can buy. Little ice mealt tabs that you toss up on the roof. They dissolve the ice dams. Better than climbing or chopping at your roof.

My carburator froze open in a terrible storm in the late 1980's while I was at work. A nice couple from Texas offered me a ride. Texas. In snow and ice. Scariest ride I ever had :hair:

Snowing here now. Radio earlier today said it won't even amount to an inch. Hope that's true.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all have jobs where you could be wrong as often as the meteorologists and never have to worry about losing your job?:D

Unusual, very little wind. Reminds me of storms in Colo where the snow actually fell, as it usually blows around here. Very Pretty!

My daughter just landed in Gulf Shores this morning, by the looks of the weather she picked the wrong time to visit

We received about an inch this afternoon/night before the temps climbed into the mid 30's. Not we are getting a heavy rain. It will be interesting to see where things stand in the am. The water has no where to go. I suspect many will end up with significant flooding. At least in low lying areas. Fortunately for me, I am on the upward side of a hill.

The worst part could be that we fall back into the single digits late Sunday. That should make this mess even worse. We are below freezing the rest of the week. Going make my driveway like an ice hockey rink. Unfortunately I will have to dump a ton of salt on it. My wife has bad knees and I can't have her slipping and falling.

Too dry to snow, too cold to snow would have to be around absolute zero.

I spent all day Saturday at my mom's house chipping ice out of the gutters below the ice dams . Pouring boiling water down the spouts trying to melt the ice. Shoveling as much snow off as I could reach from my tall step ladder.
My roof isn't too bad, just roof raked what I could reach from the ground. No gutter on the front to fill with ice, just icicles hanging off and one small ice dam.
