I brought two weeks recycling down the hill to the DPW yard today. The city has their snow farm going on since the blizzard at the end of January. All snow removed from in town is hauled and dumped here. I figure it has to be close to 4 stories high based on the size of the bulldozer. Last years pile finally melted away in June.
Sounds like you guys are in for another round of fun white stuff. I'm in for a mixed bag of sleet/freezing rain - fortunately the tree crews already set a bomb off on the powerline rightaways two weeks ago. Hard to believe it was 62 today and tomorrow lows are 18-22
Channel 5 weather (WCVB) said will be a calm period of no snow then around 4AM wind and heavy snow will start..
Around 4" snow arrived here today, -20°F real feel expected tonight with more blowing snow. Worst wind @ 60mph poss from 3am until noon tomorrow. Not much snow from this system, but a big snow event on tuesday coming......
Got 6" so far, and its blowing like heck. I went outside for more wood to topoff the inside stuff, and got pelted with good sized snowballs that must have blown sideways off the trees. I hope the power stays on.
Well, overnight it looks like we got 8-10". Wind is pretty dead right now, temp at 20. A town about 10 miles north of here reported 20". Ray, the weather reports said a band moving through west of Boston and South Shore is expected to see 2-3" per hour. Round 1 cleanup will begin in an hour or so. Wind and drifting snow is the big deal later today. The midweek storm looks to be minor as it stands now.
within last hour NWS upped forecast for today from 4-8" to 9-13" for so.shore mass. 6" spotter report in Pembroke. If forecast verifies another close to ANOTHER 20" storm for so. shore towns. GEEZ?
Another 5 inches on my top step right outside the front door. Can't venture any further out than that as I'm barefootin. This snow is sticking despite the wind. Visibility is about 150 feet. It's really coming down intense.
Looing at the garage roof we got at least another foot. I know what Im giong to be doing for 6 hours this afternoon
Looks like my honey got an extra Valentine's gift (not a fan of winter) this morning... only 2" of snow. Forecasted 12" plus. The storm split in the middle where we are, but folks got plenty down by Kittery and ovah Downeast. May get a little more today. Very cold and blowing hard right now. Once again, you guys near Boston were in the bullseye. Must be a record down there, not only for snow, but pulling every storm right down on top of you. Hang in...
