She has been asking for one of them clawfoot tubs and 15 year later I obliged and build a bathroom for her how i thought she would like it. It was a lot of work and painstaking long hours of messing with brick, electric, plumbing which I knew very little of prior to this project. but alas her bathroom how she wanted it is done. She likes to soak after a long day at the L&D unit. There are a few other details that I need to get on this weekend to make it final but the hard work has been done. What yall think....
It was a big job. I did all of the demo, which included knocking down a wall and moving it 3 feet into the adjacent bedroom, getting rid of the floors, fiberglass tub. The electrical i did myself but the plumbing i got someone to do, i dont do plumbing. I had to move the water supply lines 2.5 feet torwards the center of the room. The sink and toilet dropped right back where they were going so i did that. The rest was easy. Waynscotting saves a lot of taping and sanding so that save me some time. it took me 6 weekends and 2 full weekdays to do this. But finally is done. I had a few friends drop by and help from time to time. i must say that although the tub looks really nice, its not practical which i told my wife, we are both entering our 40s and in 10 years it can imagine it being more difficult to get in and out of the tub, but hey, its what she wanted and so there. Thanks all. there are still a few things that i need to go back and finish but that ill do during my vacation coming up. She also wanted a brick wall as she did when she was a little girl so i got brick halves and put them up. that was time consuming and painful. I messed it up by adding a sealer and ended up staining the brick, at first we were pizzed about it but eventually we embraced it, looks like an old building in the Bronx is what she says so it aged overnight. lol.
