So I took the cover off of my cs2165 to clean it up a bit and bumped this tube. It came off and I am not positive where it goes. I was kind of guessing it goes on the outlet on the right side of the pics below but wasn't sure. Where does it go from there though? Any help would be appreciated!
Might be part of a tank vent. That's the only other hose I can think of. Is there a fitting on the air filter elbow? I think that's only on the 390 though
I dont see one. I was thinking it fit on the "nipple" (not sure what else to call it) just under the right end of the tube on the second pic. I just cant figure out where it would go from there. Maybe the hole just in front of my index finger on the second pic? That just vents out of the compartment.
I had the saw tipped on its side (oriented as if I would be filling with fuel) and noticed a small leak of fuel coming out under here somewhere. Would that have anything to do with it?
I can't help you, but to commiserate. I do $hit like this all the time. Frustrating, but I bet you'll get your answer here soon.
Thanks Ed. Yeah I am a diy type of guy when I shouldn't be all the time I'll tell you one thing though, after I get this straightened out it wont happen again cause next time I'll know.
It's gotta be part of the tank vent. It'll probably need some disassembly to get it back where it was. If you take the handle bar off and remove the left a/v screw above the fuel cap, you can lift the case/carb floor up away from the rear handle to reconnect it.

That is your vent tube . One end connects to that fitting just in front of your carb’s fuel line .the other end goes to the fuel vent check valve in the rear handle .
