Man! That's awesome! Had some very official looking lady at my place and will nickle and dime you to death!
My oldest Brother built a 12' x 16' "Shed" on his property and not only did they hit him with $300.00 a year more taxes but they made him pour a foundation/footer in each corner and then Hurricane ties bolted to the building!!! . Now it's considered permanent until he tears it down.
My shop is a little more rustic as it is part of a garage and is 14 X 30 but a few things I did were: 1. installed a workbench around both long walls so I have almost 60' of workbench. Important as I usually have multiple projects going on at once 2. Installed all of my electric wiring in pipe, air compressor lines also 3. Covered all light fixtures with protective screening to keep them safe from errant 2 by 4's 4. Put all of my tools and outlets on dedicated circuit breakers and then installed switches so I can shut down the entire shop. I did this when my son was young so nothing can be turned on without the switch being activated. Also switches are made for this, breakers are not switches 5. Hang fire extinguishers in easy access locations
Mid-90's I bought a 5,000 sq. ft. pole barn at auction for $3500. I only needed 1500 sg ft so I found a buyer for the rest...disassembled my part and reassembled it on my city lot. The other guy moved his deal to his farm. I sold that 3500 sq ft deal for $3500.00... got my part free. It was all wired, insulated and paneled so Inreused all that, too. Got some free windows from a remodel project so all I had to buy new was a door, a 200 amp service panel and concrete. All finished I have $5,000 in it.
