somebody got a great deal on a local mint 372XP wrap handle w/28" B&C last night, $550. guy had a taker before i could get back to him about it. was thinking to pick that up, tackle a few of the big oaks i have, then sell it? (or keep it, just as good) and have the 562.
A stocker won't do it no faster than a ported 562 and the oilers are about the same. That's my complaint about the 44 series saws.
There it is. Just because a smaller, ported saw CAN pull a longer bar, doesn't mean the next size up won't handle it better/easier. I like porting for speed with bars the saw was already comfortable with. A lightweight 562XP, ported or not, with a 28" bar, even a lightweight one, is a very nose-heavy machine that has lost a lot of the excellent handling characteristics we all love about this saw.
Yeah but a 20" bar is too short to do much falling in bigger stuff. It would be 3 lbs lighter than a 372/440 with wrap handles.
Well that was fast. Off to a good start! Mine is stock in a box with a 20" techlite on backorder. Now what?
this is a large frame saw with a large bar mount, correct? techlite might not be in till end of april... is the outter sprike the same as the inner one, just flipped over? and rather than chop up the muffler before the warranty is up, can i just remove the screen to get some?
I don't have any extra bars right now myself besides large mount stihl. I'm waiting on the tsumura light and tough to get here the end of April/first of May.
if you don't want to modify your muffler because of warranty, why not order one that's already modded ? I know a guy.....
