Ouch, I know how you feel. Seriously, I know how you feel! 13 years ago I was going to do a pick, "American Pickers" style on real old barn that was being demo'd the next day. I showed up at 7 PM after work, and starting rescuing the rusty gold. I was doing fine until I went up into the loft. Lots of goodies there, including rotten floor boards, and very good gravity. Final Score broken Tibia in 2 places, broken Fibula, & 2 broken toes. Had 2 surgeries and seven screws, out of work 6 months. It took a year to get back to normal, e.g., running, jumping. But I am 100%, no limp. You are right about the pain, it is never ending and intense. Good Luck in your recovery!!!!!!!! Glad I had my cell phone with me.
Yeah Stinny , it ruined about 180 of them, God Bless modern medical technology. The surgeon told me 80 years ago they we amputated you below the knee. Wow.
Sounds like me. Make a cut. Place saw on top of log and use it for bracing while I move over. Make a cut and repeat. Slow going for sure but can still get a few things done.
NH mountain man it sounds like you and Smoketr1973 didn't prove the law of gravity but you did confirm it. Those are some nasty injuries.
I just got the shivers looking at your picture. I have a plate and 8 screws holding my left foot on. Back in '92, I had my 600 lb Sportster land on it and twisted it backwards. You will get over it, at least until, several years from now, someone else posts pictures of a smashed up ankle.
Well I guess I need to post some recent pictures of the good times, like a recent visit to Disney World with my family where I walked for miles every day with no problems. Even pushed my Mom's wheelchair on day 2 all day without too much trouble. Maybe some pics of today's work, dropping a dead ash for a neighbor that is way to close to their century old farmhouse. I'll try to get some pics as I go.
Sorry about that memory. To tell you the truth, I don't even like to see those again, but hopefully someone can take away something positive from my story, or maybe just pause before they say yes to a dangerous tree.
hey no worries. I figure I need a little reminder now and then. Oh and BTW welcome to our humble abode.
