70274E13-52B7-423D-9F68-38E1BE9ED37E.jpeg I also have two bedrooms down at the far end of the house from the wood stove. I keep this fan (WindMachine) on low blowing onto the stove, and when the living room gets up to 75°, the bedrooms will be around 68-70°…also having the ceiling fans on in the bedrooms (blowup upward) helps.

Could someone with a long narrow house like this attach a return vent from a far bedroom to an O.A.K. so it pulled cold air from the cooler rooms?

I was gonna start a new thread about this topic but I’ll just add my experience here .
Been burning wood in this house , standard 3 bedroom ranch with a large addition ( 14x20) on the back with vaulted ceiling.

I have a forced air furnace and also a Hearthstone Heritage . Wood stove is in the addition so heat needs to get down the hallway to the back 3 bedrooms . Not easy to do , I’ve tried many things since 2007 when I installed wood stove .

This spring I had a new forced air furnace and AC unit installed . The furnace has a 12 volt variable speed fan and is whisper quiet . One of the things I was excited to try was to run just the furnace fan and see if the wood stove would distribute heat better . There are options with the fan so I can run it at a super slow speed for x amount of minutes in a hour . This works perfectly!
I have the fan running 20 minutes every hour . I have shut 2 bedroom doors , which are the farthest away from the wood stove and temp in bedrooms is constantly 70 or so and that’s with the doors shut . My old furnace fan in the “on” mode just blew way to much and seemed to cool the house . We haven’t had that bone chilling winter yet but we’ve had some colder nights in the 20’s here in mid Michigan. Very happy with this setup and the wife is too as having fans all over the house or hallway was not something she liked very much .
