Nice woods & machinery! I had to fix a flat on my Polaris Ranger today ( Locust thorn ) you never have to worry about a flat with those steel wheels!
Got the wood off of the truck and finished out another stack. This stack is 38'x3'x5'. Spent the last 6 hours blowing and pushing leaves into the ravine........ I hate leaves!!!!!
might make more sense to mow/mulch the leaves once you get them out of the yard - nature likes it's nutrients
Not possible lol........ I live right smack in the middle of the woods and that was only 1/4 of the leaves I had to get rid of today. The first year we lived here I tried to mow and mulch them but they are so thick they ball up under the front of my tractor and ended up just about burning the belt off of the deck no matter how I tried to mulch them. Worst part is I live up on a hill with two ravines one on each side of the house so the only thing I can do with them is shove them in the ravine and be done with it. I even tried leaving them over the winter in one section of the yard and talk about a mess the next spring...... Not only did it kill all the grass but it would not dry up until I raked them all off. What a mess.
my yard is similar(draws on both sides) just less than 1/8acre "yard" - when they start falling I mulch them once a week and when it gets thick the GF blows into the edge of the woods or I run the old Forest Gump Snapper w/bagger over it - I'm in Alabama afterall. You have way more yard/woods to keep up with -understandable
I pick up my leaves with the new bagger on the tractor and dump them across the street in a field. When the wind blows they all blow right back into my lawn. . Gotta love it!
Leaves &fresh grass clippings , dumped in a compost bin, with garden plants Gets 140° , kills bugs & seeds, Great compost Post the leaves on CL, someone may come get them to make compost. Hot item for many gardeners.
Looks like you had a good productive day, that Tractor t is bad a$$. Dang you have more leaves than and I do
My house is similar,...I have a ravine on both sides. Fortunitly, I almost never have to do anything for the leaves. The wind just blows everything off to one side or the other. My MIL's house 800' below me gets leaves like in your picture. I'll spend 1/2 day cleaning her yard up. Love the old tractor!
We too live in the woods. We have a very nice carpet of leaves now. We do not rake them except for a few feet around the house. We do not find them to be bad at all. We also have very little grass and we like it that way. This time of the year just going outside and smelling the leaves is super great. But not where people are burning them. Yuck...
