I got 72 pair of Purple Martins on these racks, producing around 300 babies every year. I've got snakes in those nets every year, tangled in so tight they're dead by the time I see them in there.

I usually don't kill snakes, but don't be crawling up my martin racks. That'll be the last thing the thing does. Same thing for the chicken yard, which is all fenced and topped with overhead netting.

I've seen a lot of dead snakes in there, mainly due to this guy, my friend "Hoover", who makes short work of anything not looking like a chicken or a female turkey. Our two roosters are even terrified of him.

    Did "Hoover" survive Thanksgiving?

Oh yeah. Being a pet, along with his 3 hens and 40'ish chickens, they will live long and prosper.

I had a couple white ducks as pets years back and would love to get some chickens, but GF says no. If i get chickens she gets a dog. We get wild turkeys all the time around here.
Hoover is a beautiful bird btw!
I have to ask...where is Asgard?

It was hanging there 11 years ago when we bought the place. Is something that should be preserved?

Ahah. I remember, I did look into building a house for them when I moved up here, couldn't remember why. Problem is, there is no shortage of things here, that eat everything else. Nearly impossible just to keep a bird feeder up.
