I know around here the END of February is the END of pellets at HD..... CLEARED/GONE/OUTTA HERE....don't matter how many skids they have,.. you would think there would be a end of season sale just to get rid of them.
You WOULD think ...these places TICK me off! Some people can't pull on a ton PLUS they don't have room to STORE a ton so "stocking up" isn't an option for everyone. Is it really too much to expect to still be able to buy pellets with 6 WEEKS OF WINTER LEFT? Grrrr ...
I went to the local Lowe's last week to pick up some fatwood for the woodstove up north. I had to ask a guy where it was. "You may want to grab an extra bag, not sure if there's more on the truck that's being unloaded tomorrow." The seasonal section was loaded with grills and outdoor furniture. Mind you, this was right before/during our second Polar Vortex. I'm sure everyone was out looking for patio furniture whilst it was -20 with the wind. Maybe all those people buying pellets and ice-melt didn't get the memo.
I cleaned the stove today. I'd say these are slightly less ashy than the Chows. The ash isn't as fine; it's a bit more granular. So far, go good with these pellets.
