Sitting on 4 tons chow.. I have yet to score my hotter than hells yet.. I was in for 2 tons of country boy, but got word yesterday not coming.. Wondering how I should play this.. Just wait to stock picks up or go on the warpath? I'm not hurting for pellets, buts it's always nice to have some atomic chit in the stash.. Ray
Call around to HDs within reasonable driving distance until you find one that has something good. That's what I did. Got lucky and struck gold twice. Blazers at one and PTL softies at another. Once in a lifetime luck that was and I wouldn't be surprised if I never find them again! Can't hurt to try?
Vermont's are my personal favorite. Almost as low ash as Blazers. But the only pellet that stood out as far as heat is concerned when I adjusted for the pounds per hour.
I picked up 6 bags of AWF White Pine pellets at HD yesterday.They had about 30 tons sitting around and they weren't flying out the door.I'll fire em up during our polar vortex this weekend and see how good they are.Maybe people see the words White Pine and are scared away.
Had to start burnig Blazers. Not my garage stash. It was the run we made to get some that we can unload easily into the porch from the van. They sure burn clean. Nice fire. Glass stays clean.
I picked up a couple bags of those a week or so back. $6.49 a bag. I stopped by today and most of that pallet is still in the store. The AWF hardwoods that are right next to it were gone.
