Have to report for Fed. District Court jury duty tomorrow.

Reported for Jury Duty this morning.
The first question the judge asked was, "Does anyone have a relative or close friend that is or has been in Law Enforcement."
I raise my hand.
My son was a Deputy and then worked part time as a police officer in a small town. He worked in the detective division catching pedophiles. My daughter was a Deputy, bailiff and is now a probation officer. My son-in-law is a correction officer.
I even forgot about 3 nephews that are or were police officers.
The judge dismissed me.

 

Well why didn't you say so?! Instant dismissal...

 

Flawed, yes.
But there is no better system.

 

I was on a Feredal Jury a few years ago. No big deal, I don’t understand people who want to get out of jury duty. Someone has to do it and my work pays me. We convicted a prison guard of beating up a prisoner (it was on tape) and a bunch of his coworkers were there. I asked if someone could escort us out of the building, there was some really
Pizzed off people there.
