Haulin Ash

Went to the log deck this morning & cut a couple loads. Was a nice day after the fog burned off. Should be just under 2 cord. Didn't get a pic of the second trailer. Oops.

 

Nice haul. I may get out one evening this week again finally. Chased a fuel problem on my truck and finally got it. It was about 1 day away from dinomite or the salvage yard.

Nope, beautiful stuff, all solid & dry. Sad thing is it's sold to a friend of mine. Good news is there's about 150 more trees just like those to go yet.

Actually, I cut almost both loads with one chain, got into some dirt toward the end & swapped. I have noticed the dead Ash & Elm both seem harder on chains & dull them quicker than green wood.

 

150 more dead barkless ash trees!!

 

Yea, give or take, I got bored after counting a 100 & just guessed, maybe more.

Gonna be a good bit of ash around for a few years because if the EAB. But once it's gone it's gone.
