I don’t have any before pics but these little helicopter LEDs are much brighter than the three 60 watt incandescents they replaced.

if your in the market for another, I’d go look again if you haven’t.
These were in a makeshift aisle between the light bulbs and the electrical section. The side of the makeshift aisle facing the electrical section were $30. I had to walk around to the other side, facing the light bulb section, to find the ones that were on sale.
Mistake? I’d like to think so.

Ironically I just Googled our local Home Depot to see if they had them. Nope! I'm gonna check Lowes; They had a pile of them and thats where I got the original Idea. I believe I'm gonna get 1 or 2 more just to have. They really  did the trick for me, but my shop is little. I can see where they would work well in a basement or pole building, they do put out the light.

WeldrDave your post got me motivated to brighten up a dark section of the basement. I added three 36" fixtures and one 48". The mrs was always mentioning how she could hardly see anything down there. She's gonna need sunglasses now  :cool: . Pay no attention to the ol dusty grandma bear that's still unhooked :(.

Haha she'll get hooked back up eventually. When we built the addition i had to disconnect it because the chimney exited that side of the house. Plan is to go out that window above it. Although I might swap her with the grandpa that's sitting in the shop :binoculars:. Get a bit more heat in that basement :)

Oh she did the job well when she was hooked up before. We added a 600sqft addition with a full basement which puts us a little over 2000sq if you include the basement. What you're lookin at in the pics is the original basement. Gotta get this ol drafty house cookin to keep it warm haha. Well the original part that is. The addition is sealed up tighter than a frogs @$#.

I'm kinda glad I posted this thread, it was interesting to learn and hear/see what others do or did. Time will tell on the life span of these and I'm sure down the road the price will come down some, but I'm happy with my result. I'm gonna buy an extra one for the shop to have on hand for a spare.

That looks like a good solution to a large space that currently is only wired for one lightsource. At $200, that is $40 per source of light, so not bad at all.

I'm trying to figure out the total lumens for the MPI unit. Is it 7,500 lumens? Or is that for the main unit and the satellites are different?
