Has anyone had there appendix rupture?

How is he doing?

I have seen several cases (friends and family) where the hospital treated with antibiotics for a few weeks before removing the appendix. Supposedly patients do better, I kinda like old school!

I think it was 50+ years ago but a German/Russian doctor in Antarctica had to remove his own appendix! I can’t even begin to understand what he went through.

 

Just saw this and hoping his recovery is going well. Prayers sent

 

Wanted to give everyone a update, my son is doing well and is back home and recovering. Still a little sore but far better shape than when I posted. I want to thank all the members for prayers and comments. This forum is special and good people that care about one another.

Yes in my family appendix can be on wrong side.. several cousins had ruptures…

Im a little late seeing this. So glad your son is doing well!

A good friend of mine had his rupture in June. Not sure how long it ruptured before he went to hospital. He sat in the ER for hours and hours. He had covid and hospital said his stomach pain was due to that and they were trying to send him home. He couldn't stand up to go home.
Finally they did tests and saw it was ruptured. By then he was septic, kidneys started to fail. It was a very bad situation.

They removed what was left of his appendix, some of his colon too. He was at death's door. I went in to see him, because the doctors thought it was a matter of days before he would die.
He was In the hospital for a month. Infection cleared, kidneys are recovering.
They found he has colon cancer and also that has spread. His doctor completely missed the colon cancer for over a year! Even though Steve told him about issues he was having. So now he's fighting that damm disease.

 

He is. Ive never been around him where he didn't have me laughing. Including when I went to the hospital.
