brother sent some pics today from the tree farm. The ares in the pictures was a heavy canopy until this week. At the water edge were some large beech trees that dropped a lot of leaves each Fall, into the lake. The building had some tall straight poplars snug against it , and the area directly about the house had some learners that needed attention. The logging foreman had explored the old building and asked about buying some antique lamp and an outboard motor that had a long draw- maybe for a decent sized sailboat? Brother said he could have them. Man, that favor paid off. Several crappy trees not marked for harvest or cull were removed. Across the lake was a big pine leaning over the water that was an upcoming nightmare to deal with one day. They cut and removed it. We anticipated a big mess to deal with when they got the trees cut here. That is why we got the 8” chipper and stump grinder. Ed says it looks like about 5,000 dollars worth of tree and landscape work was done. He invited the crew to house for lunch tomorrow. Going to grill some burgers.
