    Hello
Any insight on this would be appreciated. :) It was chilly last night so our Harmy fired very early this morning. When I looked at the stove at 8 am the distribution fan was off and the stove was on low fire?
    FP mode = Fireplace Mode
What tells the circuit board to
    Turn the room fan off?

    Temp setting is approx 74
Mode was set to room temp high fan
    Max pellet feed approx 4
Temp next to end of room probe is 74 on inside living room wall
Temp near outside wall is 73
Temp outside is 59 deg F
    See pics

I always thought FP- Fireplace mode was Stove temp/manual....which sends your heat up thru the exhaust and not into your room for ambiance look but, looks like your in room mode so not sure what your question is????.....when in room/auto or room manual, the black probe senses room temperature you we're set for like 74, then flames will ramp down but I assume u know that... sounds like your set temp of 74 was satisfied and u caught it at ramp down time where as the distribution fan shuts off.

    Looks like it to me.

Fireplace mode IS stove temp manual.

This auto or room temp Fireplace mode shown above, I believe is not on the older circuit boards. can anyone confirm this?
In Scotts you tube video at the very end he describes a hidden mode "summer romance mode"or "Fireplace mode" as Toggle Switch in Manual, and Stove Temp Mode with the Temp Dial less than 5 so the room blower or distribution blower is off and all the heat goes up the chimney like a Fireplace.

    Is he right about that?

So Wil711, Do you have the answer? Please tell us?

    In Room Temp mode.
What tells the circuit board to
    Turn the distribution blower off?

Yes i think that after the fire ramped down as far as it could go, then to control the temperature more it shut off the distribution fan so my question is:
What tells the circuit board to
    Turn the distribution blower off?

Isn't that the whole reason there is a room sensing probe on a Harman?

Oh yes, but the algorithms burned into the control board can be complex. Sure the distribution blower is turned on and off by biasing the base of the Triac and the speed is controlled by the potentiometer but the logic gate in room temp mode is triggered by the chip that holds the micro code. I see the distribution blower shutting down in the morning during the spring and I have never seen it shut down in the winter like that. Therefore there must be some temperature change maybe based on time duration using the room probe and maybe the ESP probe too that would cause the difference in the behavior of distribution blower at this time of year?

It doesn't in the winter because it's cold out.

as Spring is here, and burning a few nights recently,
my distr blower goes off same as yours in the Morning... or OFF period in Room/Auto.
Never bothered with Fireplace mode ie: Stove mode/Manual. [ Pellets cost too much to just send heat up the Exhaust. I'll have my Wife move around with a Lantern in the room for Ambiance ] :dex: but sounds like it's working correct. Specially with blower at #5 or lower..
I Get lot of Direct Sun from the East right in to Stove Room.
barely ever went off in the dead of winter..

Yes that is the way mine works too. I just leave it on room temp so it starts up in the wee hours of the morning to take the chill out when we wake up.

That is my question in layman 's terms!
Since the stove does not have an outside thermometer then how does it know if it is cold or mild outside to shut the distribution blower down and not turn the stove off?

    For example:
I was talking to Mike Holton one day about the air table burned into the chips in the Englandee Pellet Stoves. Do you know why there is no damper in the stove?
The reason is the air table contains parameters related to the voltages sent to the exhaust blower for each heat level as input to the micro code to change the air flow through the stove so the pellets burn completely.

In coding the reason why we use tables with constants is to make the code more flexible. I.E in this case just changing the constants for each stove model is easier than rewriting the micro code. I did this many times in my database application programming. :)

Harman's have no damper also. Put a volt meter on your Harman combustion blower sometime like I did and you will see the voltage change automatically. :)

Therefore, This answer is most likely in the micro code but if there is a software flow chart, the answer would be more apparent. Does anyone work on micro code and burn ROMs or Flash EPROMs?

Don in layman's terms most of us don't give a chit how it works as long as it works

You as a wanna be expert are searching for answers from us .

Why don't you go to a school and learn about this from the experts ??

    Good question.
I did took many programming courses as an undergrad which teaches the basics but unfortunately this stuff is proprietary to stove control panels and the board manufactures do not publish any specs and may have special agreements with the stove manufacturers. Just hoping that someone with some inside knowledge might come along and also make you guys think too. But if you do not care that is fine too.
    Thanks for listening. :)
Also going to see the Harman crew next month and maybe find out more but not counting on it since they do not have to tell.
