I actually don't think it is set that way.....certainly possible to have too much draft....then heat goes up the chimney....not enough dwell time on the heat exchanger

I think the older boards,(properly built/tested) came set at mid point, was in the older manuals.

Both of my stoves were set at the mid point by default. 08 P68 and 14 P43. They both have long venting runs and strong natural draft. Per the meter, the default draft reading was too high on both, and turning them all the way down as far as they would go got closer, but still not quite into the recommended value range. Get a magnehelic and do what you can. Puzzled why adjusting the startup sequence feed dip switches would affect your draft in this way though, seems odd.

I don’t think it effected my draft per say, I think I had to many pellets feeding into the pot and it was taking longer to light and that’s where the black soot and everything came from. That’s the only thing idk if the maintenance burn is supposed to be that low. I would thing the flames would be cooking that igniter.

I just didnt lean the right way politically. Frankly I am way too busy now to follow more than one forum, so I come here and spend time with all the other degenerates and deplorables.
