    Both of them (TT or Northern) can be had for $99 if you wait till a sale starts. Happens several times a year. The Timber Tuff is a great machine for the money. It's based off the Oregon units. It doesn't have a reversible motor, but for $100, it's hard to beat..

    Back to the Sharpener at hand. For $30, the HF unit will sharpen your chains and do it faster than you can with a file, while saving you trips to your local saw shop for them to sharpen. Hard to go wrong for $30.

    Well next time I'm in the city ...where wifes family lives I can walk into northern tool.

    On another note my town just got a harbor freight!!!

    Even at the $130 price the northern tool grinder is a good deal

    I had one of the 30 dollar cheapos from HF, and it wasn't bad at all given the price. I would rather grind a rocked chain on a cheap grinder than burn up a couple files any day.
    They have their place, just the same as a 300 dollar Oregon, or 950 dollar Silvey.
