    Ahh, an old Steiner 220...that new Predator will run better than that Onan had in a LOOOONG time. We have an old 420 at work...shes so tired that the carb can't be kept in tune anymore...takes 3 hands to operate the dang thing (steering wheel, throttle, choke, forward/reverse/ground speed lever all at the same time) My buddy at the dealer says this is a classic symptom of low compression (high hours) on these engines

    Fwiw, it's not that it's a v twin, it's the angle of the V, and how it's balanced. ;)


    A 90° v twin, or a L twin is perfectly balanced with no need for a balancing weight.


    Nice work though! It can't vibrate to badly, can it?

    The angle is the key to how much it shakes for sure.

    I mowed with it for 20 or so minutes the other night and the vibration was noticeable but not so bad that I wanted to tear it out and start over.
