Temp now at 50. Day started wet and chilly. Took until after noon to hit 50. So...we caved in and started a fire. Feels great! Unfortunately, my poor wife is not enjoying it right now. She wanted to pick raspberries this morning but I put my foot down on that idea. Picking berries in a wet patch with the temperature around 45 with a 10 mph NW breeze just did not sound like much fun. But, she just had to get out there this afternoon. I'll have it nice and toasty for her when she returns.
Wait, so you put your foot down, and she went out anyway. Judy, you go girl. Hasn't gotten above 46 yet today. Fire tonight.
Dave, it is amazing. I started a fire and it is warming up outdoors. We are in the 50's now. 55 degrees and counting! Still forecasting 30's tonight.
Today may be the start for many to take the chill out. Rain is right at our doorstep now. No solar gain today and it is making everyone grab a blanket to read or watch tv. We had mid 40's this morning. Kind of a soup day. Enjoy it.
Hmmmm…. I normally wont fire up the dragon till after Halloween here, like them 40* to 50* nights for sleeping…. Inlaws are in mid Westrern Wis. I gotta call them, must be getting chilly for them, Although, my crazy old Father inlaw, at 88 years old still wants to go turkey hunt'n at 10 below…. don't they sell them in the grocery store
She possibly smelled a wisp of wood smoke during startup, quickly picked berries, and decided to come in to warm up? Now that she's warm, perhaps a sweet raspberry jam will be in order to accompany a warm breakfast next to the mornings fire?
Sorry Dave. At the time I was not able to post pictures so just did not take one. Naturally, since that time, I can now post. Been having some weird things happening the past couple days and don't know why.

I broke down.. Got home from soccer, rain started, 68 in the house and 57 outside.. Only going to get colder tonight.. Two week old daughter fast asleep... Some pallet wood warming the house.. Don't tell @Pallet Pete @fishingpol you said it.. No solar gain today.. I went for the grilled cheese instead of the soup.. Guess I should have cleaned up the glass a little for you all!!

Had grilled cheese with some deli chicken a couple nights ago. Um, can I plead the fifth? No, wait......I'm real sharp. Yeah, that's it.
52 early yesterday morning with cold light rain & slowly falling temps throughout the day.45 at quitting time,thought about throwing some scrap in the firebox & starting first fire of the season.But was too tired after another 10 hour day.NG furnace kicked on for a couple hours.Went in at 6AM again today,39 when I left the house at 545.Worked until 1130,sun was shining most of the day,its 61 now & feels warmer.Finally have tomorrow off,after working 19 of the past 20 days..... But that intense fire in the Weber kettle grilling those extra thick pork chops does look pretty good
FIRE!!!:firepit: I think I am on the third shirt that I have totally soaked through!! With sweat. I get a dry one each time I come inside cause I freeze if not. Was close to 90 when I cut that load this mourn. Then the thunderstorms rolled in and its now 73 and like 100% humidity!
