Anyone got a picture of the tool for the H adjustment on the carb of a makita 7900? Asking for a friend.

This saw has that cap blocker on it.
Plan on digging into it tomorrow and will report back with pics
Agree, SOS Ridgerider would be my go to

 

First blocker. Took that collar off with a chisel and reached in behind to get the rest



Second blocker, H side with poured in epoxy or similar. L side is just dirty



Drilled a small hole to get a start on what I was dealing with



Lots hand work with a small razor and pick



I got enough out that I could start to turn H adjuster. Kept going until the whole block backed out.




A little more clean up. Didn’t see a reason to keep chasing the rest of the epoxy. Had full seat capability at this point.





First blocker, cleaved.

I have never seen one like that. What a pain in the dik

 

I guess Home Depot figures if a customer is willing to go that far then he’s probably not going to toast it in the tune.

Maybe it’s a job application.

 

Possibly. I guess the only Home Depot rental saws I’ve been into were already owned by someone else first and maybe they had already defeated them

 

and I think about 1 and a third turns is the is HD secret recipe. Somewhere between a quarter and third.

 

That depends on the age. Newer ones run close to two turns out. Early ones about one turn out

 

This one was set there before being perma plaqued

 

I saw that miller mod saws tack welded the spacer that used to be attached to the slr tube to the back half of the muffler. What is the best option if you don't know how to tig or braze?

 

Affixing it would be better, but the bolts go through it and hold it in place. It needs to be there as a spacer
