Sold a few and picked up a couple. Moved a Winchester 101 Field, Benelli MR1 and the Model 70 7mm Rem Mag over the last 2 months. Got the bug for sporting clays and my wife has an interest too. Sooooooo.............. found an unfired Beretta 686 Silver Essential 12 gauge from 1997 that my wife will shoot, and picked up the Browning Citori I have been agonizing over. Never spent that much on a gun before, but the aforementioned sales enabled it with nothing additional out of pocket. Justified.
Very nice! And glad for you that you found what you wanted mywaynow! I need another gun or two for the house. I have looked at Benelli and Barretta several times. My brother bought one of each over the years. More money, but very nice.
The first and only time I shot a citori I went 23 of 25 (skeet). As a pump gun guy, I didn't know a shotgun could make a guy that much better. Admittedly I'm not a shotgun guy. Enjoy, they are awesome!
I got turned on to sporting clay shooting by a guy that I agreed to sell the model 101 to. Had no desire to shoot clay and had only shot a couple times in my life. He suggested we shoot at a particular site and I agreed to go. I brought my 1187 and the 101 he was buying. First round I went 0/6 or 1/6. That was about when I understood my lack of desire to shoot clay. He broke 4 or 5/6 and as we walked to the next station, suggested I shoot the 101. Having felt like I held up the station and scattered the onlookers with the auto ejecting of my shells, I figured I would try that out. I proceeded to break 4/6 and also decided the 1187 makes a great deer gun, leaving it in the cart from there out. Ended up 62% on the day and that was when I realized I sold a gun I should have kept because I was going to shoot clays whenever I had the chance.
Some nice shotguns there! My FIL shoots trap every Friday, his favorite is his Citori even though he's got more expensive O/U's. My expensive shotgun is a 20 gauge Ruger Red label that I bought as a present to myself when I landed my first job out of college. I consider myself a better than average shot with my 12 ga 870 pump, and I find I never give up anything when stepping down to the 20 ga with the Red Label.
