Those people that are so inclined pay up $$ for custom stocks. The rest of the people learn to shoot differently
Yes they are very expensive and I suspect far out of the realm of justifiable for those that would like one. Seems like a good opportunity for a equipped woodworker to get into a niche market with a not so fancy one for the "average" person. If I had the need, I certainly would look into offset sights or sight mounts.
You guys and gals priced ammo on GunBroker lately? Un freaking believable. I made a few phone calls to some hunter buds and they came through. Seems like everybody but me had a couple boxes of 30-30 Win stashed somewhere. I got $75 invested in 100 rounds. My buds had my back but they know I got theirs,, Those Fusions look interesting a boat-tail in a 30-30 I had no idea
Yeah, gun broker and other sites are stupid for prices on ammo right now. Have you tried the lever evolution by Hornady for the 30-30?
Have not shot the 30-30 yet but those lever revolutions are very accurate in my 45-70. Hornady a good outfit they don’t sell junk.
Yes, ammo is double what it was last year at this time. I've been pre-ordering at reasonable but not great prices. I grab a box here and there when I go to the local shops...... If the have it that is
Jokes on me I guess... Plenty of factory ammo stashed away, but finding out I got caught slightly behind on reloading components. Not out yet, but primers especially of the sorts I use are getting scary low. I've been toying with the idea of selling off some "green paint" factory stuff, and other highly desirable rifle and handgun stuff to cover the cost but it seems there just is not going to be any until the factories decide to divert components to the reloading market.
Stopped at the gun store on the way home Picked up a canik tp9sc elite these caniks come with all kinds of stuff Optics ready if you like that kind of thing Another canik is the same price as some of the optics lol And a nice holster and tool kit and cleaning kit. 12 rnd flush 15 rnd extended very comfortable pistol to me Great trigger about 3 1/2 pounds I'll try it this weekend when I'm on vacation.
Very impressed with the canik Great trigger and accuracy Shot 18 yd steel plate rack today And expired diced potatoes If anyone gets a chance try one.
I think the last time I managed to find primers in stock was back in August. It was online and the stock was gone by the time I finished placing my order. I doubt they'll be available again till next August but a lot hinging on the next couple weeks. What's blown my mind is since the election, even gunpowder is just gone. I saw this coming and started hoarding early on but you still always wish you had more.
Yes, those extras would add up otherwise. Do they make them in .40s&w? I see a lot of 9mm. The tungsten full size version for just over $400 looks sharp.
They make them finding them is another story I've never seen a .40 canik personally canik .40 s&w - Google Search Buy they are kinda rare here only one shop Carry's them.
People saw .40 is dead It was still readily available for several weeks after hoarding/panic buying began lol Many people bought .40s when they bought .40 pistols Because that was what was available. My gun store sold 31 pistols they day I bought mine Two guy's bought 4 of the ruger 5.7 800.00 per pistol And they had no pistol ammo on the shelves But may have offered it to people buying guns Idk I didn't need ammo.
I've got a couple 9's. So for ammo 9mm was the first to go OOS since it's so popular. The 40 has a lot more stopping power. And ammo was available longer. A 45 is nice too for those reasons, but then you get lower magazine capacity. Back when they first came out, I bought a Ruger pistol in 10mm auto. As you know 40 s&w and 10mm were both up to be the next service pistol caliber. After 40s&w won out, ammo was very difficult to get. They said 10mm auto was dead. Now it's back, and even more popular. IDK If buy one of those again possibly.
I jumped right on the Canik wagon some years ago. None of the stores had any, and some never heard of them and down right said no. Sooo... like I usually end up doing, I bought online and had it sent to a store for transfer. Even with that it was less expensive than the quotes I did manage to get. There appears to me anyway, that there is a great deal of resistance to anything out of "the norm" around here which I simply do not understand, at all. How boring it must be to be so limited by ones own self imposed restrictions.
I like the foreign guns nobody heard of. Back in 94 I was looking at my gun stores Distributor catalog. They had cz 75sa 9mm and .40 single action only for 300.00 on clearance Nobody would buy them So I bought a couple some of the best and most accurate pistols I've ever shot. Same with eaa witness I bought a 10mm Full-size for like 290.00 Excellent firearms. Everyone here was glock or 1911 in semi auto no one even tried other makes and models. One of these days I'll try a arex delta line And the sar line.
I hear Glock repeated so often in a gun store it sounds like a flock of chickens in a hen yard, and if you own a 1911 best keep it to yourself. I do not like Glock ergonomics and the triggers suck. There are so many other vastly more interesting things. I have been a square peg expected to fit myself in a round hole all my life, most others seem more concerned with rubbing each others butts and impressing themselves with their one trick pony pistols.
